Although the Brumbies are now one of Super Rugby’s most popular sides, the team was initially expected to perform poorly. This is because it was made from players who had been rejected from the other Australian teams in the Super Rugby tournament (then known as the Super 12).
However, the Brumbies Rugby side was competitive immediately. Ever since, they have confounded expectations and they’ve now enjoyed more success than all the other Australian sides in the tournament. In fact, they reached the final five times in their first 10 years in the competition and missed out once on a tiebreaker.
