Since the club’s formation way back in 1902, the Pau Rugby team have been hugely successful. They have been crowned as the champions of France three times (in 1928, 1946 and 1964) and they won the European Rugby Challenge Cup in 2000. Plus, the club have also won the Challenge Yves du Manoir in 1939, 1952 and 1997, as well as a French Pro D2 title in 2015.
Ever since the team won the Pro D2 title in 2015, the side have played in the Top 14, which is the top flight of rugby union in France. During this period, the Pau Rugby team have also represented France in the European Rugby Challenge Cup. In the 2017-18 edition, the side even reached the semi-final stage of the competition. However, they were beaten by Cardiff Blues, who were the competition’s eventual champions.
