This is because, in November 2019, the Saracens team was handed a points deduction and a £5.3m fine after they were found to have breached Premiership Rugby salary cap regulations over the previous three seasons. The points deduction handed to Saracens Rugby was so severe that the team finished the 2019-20 Premiership season on -38 points even though they won 13 out of a possible 22 games.
