Zander Fagerson is a skilled prop who has excelled at both domestic and international level. A star for Glasgow Warriors and Scotland, he’s one of the finest forwards in the game today.
Born 19 January 1996, Zander Fagerson began playing rugby at a young age. However, he had a diverse and varied set of interests during his younger years. As well as playing rugby, he sang with NYCOS National Boys Choir in 2006 and he was the Scottish Youth Downhill Mountain Bike Champion in 2010.
But, Zander Fagerson opted to become a professional rugby player and he made his debut for Glasgow Warriors in 2014. He was immediately successful with the side and he became the youngest player to reach 50 caps for the club at the age of 21. As of 2021, he’s made 100 appearances for Glasgow Warriors. During this period, he’s won the PRO12 (now known as the PRO14) and finished as a runner-up in the competition.
From a young age, Zander Fagerson has also caught the attention of the Scotland setup. After representing his country at U16, U18 and U20 level, he made his debut for the first XV in 2016. Since, he’s been capped more than 30 times.
Thanks to his successes for both Glasgow Warriors and Scotland, Zander Fagerson was selected in the 37-man squad for the 2021 British & Irish Lions tour to South Africa.
Still only young and with his best years in the game still ahead of him, we can’t wait to see what else Zander Fagerson can achieve in the game.
