Wales vs Argentina 2023: Detailed Match Preview
On Saturday 14th October, 2023, Wales will face Argentina in the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals at Stade de Marseille in Marseille.
This game is a huge clash between two in-form sides who will both be hopeful of advancing to the semi-finals. While Warren Gatland’s Wales side have been hugely impressive during the pool stage, Argentina enter this clash with something to prove and fight for. After all, entering the tournament, many believed that they’d top Pool D ahead of England.
Overall, this encounter promises to be a nailbiter between two sides that appear evenly matched on paper. While Warren Gatland believes his Welsh side are yet to play their best rugby (despite winning 19/20 points in the pool stage), Argentina head coach Michael Cheika thinks his team will ‘play some footie’ in the quarter-final as the pressure will be firmly off his men - we can’t wait to see how this one pans out.
